Data usage on MXPE

I have a quick question. When I am at home on my phone I use WiFi so I don't use my data. While I was watching a couple YouTube videos I saw a pop up that said you have use 90% or your monthly data allowance. Does this phone use both so that was it gives you a better experience?

I know on the iPhone ( I use one for work ) there was a feature on there where if you were on a weak WiFi signal it would use data with out you knowing.

I had a similar problem when I first started using my MXPE. I called AT&T customer service and they cleared it right up. HTH.
 
I have a 2 gig limit but I figured if I used WiFi then it would not use my carrier data

It definitely should not have used data if you're certain you were on wifi.

I recently went to sleep watching Netflix on my phone and woke up to realize I didn't have my wifi on, and had used 2gb! Of course this happened on the second day of my billing cycle :D
 
There's also an option in Developer Options to always keep cellular data active. Make sure to check that as well.
