I have an HTC Evo 4G with stock 2.2 ROM. Have been too chicken to flash any other ROMs. The reason I am doing a data wipe is because my internal memory is all the way down to 13MB and I have absolutely no idea what is taking up all the memory. I have pushed any and all apps that can be put on the SD card to the card, and I still have no memory. I can't download any more apps, not even to the card because I get an error saying the app failed to load due to low memory.

When I do the data wipe with my stock ROM, will I be able to see the Superuser ninja icon immediately after, or will I have to reboot into recovery and get the Nandroid backup first? I know I sound like an idiot, but I want to be sure I know what I'm doing and you guys seem to know your stuff. I'd even appreciate a step-by-step instruct from wipe to recovery if you had the time. I have Titanium Backup pro, Android 2.2, Clockwork Mod with Nandroid backup. Please advise. Thanks in advance!

You will not lose root if you wipe your data, that's part of the rom. How many apps do you have? I would suggest just flashing a new rom from rom manger to cm7 or a Mon sense rom as it will give you much more room if you are running out of memory on your phone.

just like duce said, you wont lose root when you wipe so the Superuser icon will still be there afterwards. and backup all of your apps with Titanium and then do a nandroid backup in recovery then wipe.

i also agree with duce about flashing a new ROM. any AOSP-based ROM should be fine (CM7, Deck's, Savaged-Zen, SalvagedMod, etc. to name a few)

here ya go... first only back up on TB apps that save progress or store user created data otherwise you backups will very quickly fill SD card also. I would go into ROM manager and reboot into recovery. From there use down arrow to select wipe, press power button to select. in the next screen you will want to select and wipe everything but the SD card (there is a specific option for wiping SD and partitioning, avoid both of these) after you do this reboot phone, you do not need to do a nandroid or install new ROM unless you want to. reinstall the apps you need and move all to SD card. check memory on phone again if it is okay now congrats. if it is not you will either need to check a program like apps2sd which will allow you to move all apps to your card, or need to try a new ROM... good luck and let us know if we can help you
