Daydream mode doesn't last the night on the Nexus 4 Wireless Charger

I just received my new Nexus 4 Wireless Charger. I love it, and it works great for charging. However I thought I would be able to use my Nexus 4 as a clock overnight. I would set the Daydream mode to display the clock, and then set it on the charger on my nightstand. Seemed simple enough.

It works great this way until I go to sleep. By the time I wake up though, the daydream mode is off, and nothing is displaying on the screen. Is there a built in shutoff for Daydream as well? And how do I increase that time so I can have it at least make it through the night.

After reading another thread on here, I want to be clear too, it is not shutting the phone completely off....it is still on and can be woken by hitting the power button. It just isn't in Daydream mode anymore, and the screen is turned off.

Someone else had that problem but I guess you've already read that thread. Might have to send it back?
