No, with the Nougat update for the Moto Z, they are officially supported

Got mine yesterday, and it does work quite well. There's a need for more content for the platform, but when it's a $79 viewer, it's a pretty small investment for some pretty cool tech.

Not a lot of games yet, but so far all the apps I've tried on it have been very smooth. I need to explore the apps that are available more, though. I'd love to see Minecraft PE supported, though I'm not sure how they'd map the controls.
