DCIM and Camera folders

Why do I have both DCIM and Camera folders on my Note 9? Also it looks like all current photos are being saved to the Camera folder which was not the case before 1/1/2021.

/DCIM is the parent folder for /DCIM/Camera. Where are you seeing them separately -- in the Gallery app?

All Android devices should be saving photos taken by the Camera app to the /DCIM/Camera folder. I've never heard of a phone saving photos to the more general /DCIM folder.
