Dead menu key lights (home,menu,back,search)?

Seems the LEDs that back-light the menu keys on my HTC Droid Incredible no longer light up under any conditions. I've run some sensor tests, and the light sensor seems to be working (goes from ~300lux to 40lux). So I'm thinking there's a bad connection somewhere (the phone has been taken apart a few times to correct minor issues such as a hair under the touch screen). However I'm unsure where to look. Any ideas?

Sounds like you missed a connection on one of the re-assemblies. You might want to take it apart again and see what's lose.

I've done so but could see no issues. Which doesn't mean there are none as some of the surface contacts can be tricky. Main problem is I dont know where to look and putting my test bench probes across all contact points to check if they work would be time consuming.

And fixed. For the record, its the small ribbon connector by the camera.

Sometimes I wish we could leave a trail of breadcrumbs on our boards to remind us to re-connect everything! I've had to dis/re-assemble to find a missed connection more than once!
