sorry for the late response, i was rather incapacitated. :D finals:mad:
first, another thanks for the update. +1for getting rid of sprint id in v0.4! my last dload was a fluke as has been suggested, i shd've spotted it as it was at least 40mbs slimmer than its' predecessor. lol another props for an awesome recovery from @drelisdee, flash was aborted. bk to v0.4! upon unlock, things get laggy for a moment or ... three sometimes. but once all scenes are active, things return to fluid. it's a smooth experience from then on out. btw ilike i'd reported in a previous post, i'd flashed v0.3 with zeffie's kernel and if v0.4=v0.3+zeff's kernel, why did we lose the dark theme on the notification bar in v0.4? as for OC, i'm stable at 729. my only real gripe with this ROM right now is that lag period when the screen "wakes up" from unlock.
thank you Nick7, keep up the righteoous work!

Yeah, for now v0.3 is stable. I'll post a v0.3 with Sprint ID removed because v0.4 needs work.

Updated stable ROM, Sprint ID is no more. I highly recommend using the stable version for now until the lag issues are ironed out in the test ROM.

I'm pretty new to Android, I just got my phone a few days ago.

I've got thunderom1.3 installed right now, and I'm just wondering if there's a big difference between Nrom and thunderom and if I should consider switching.

No big changes, the major differences are in the theme (you can compare the screenshots in the original posts of each ROM), the "voice" button being remapped to "call" in my ROM, and zefie's overclock kernel in my ROM.

fm radio xD

btw, stagefright, idk...

With audio it messes up some of my mp4 files. It seeks faster but adds some annoying sfx to the decoding of certian frequencies. so I ended up disabling stagefright on my phone, which of course drops the cpu on quadrant down. No noticeable effect...

Don't let this fool you those are only rigged by the steps 11 and 12, video decode and audio decode.

Do you want fast and sloppy or slow and stable?

Yeah, personally I don't use any build.prop edits. I don't even have JIT enabled. But sadly, most users base their opinion of a ROM on synthetic bench marks instead of snappiness and stability.. lol. So I threw in the works.

As for the FM radio, I came across an interesting menu in LG hidden menu that deals with bluetooth and "music." I'm going to get the lib files and fmradio.apk from an Optimus One ROM and play around with it later.

Can you put the version and release date in the title? Makes it easier for us to know if you have updated, especially now that the thread is stickied.

So what's this mean? JIT and Stagefright give artificially inflated benchmark scores that don't translate into real-life performance increases?

Tree Dude : Unfortunately I can't change the thread title. Only mods can.

shortyjacobs : Benchmarks give a good estimate of a phone's performance but as you said, they can be inflated. For example, an Optimus running nROM does not perform more than twice as well as a stock Optimus, but the benchmarks say otherwise. I would say tweaks like stagefright do inflate benchmark scores. JIT compilation on the other hand does speed up the phone a significant amount.

I did a test playing 2 mp3s with subsonic. One test with stagefright on and one with it off. With it on, the music was really flat and was missing some low frequencies. With it off, it sounded normal.

there is a known "issue' with aac decoding with stagefright, google says its a feature, idk. all i know is it screws up all my aac-he files that work even on an LG Lotus!!!

Finally! I got some time to work on the ROM. Life happens.

Anyways I present v1.0 Yet another 3am release.

i switched my custom hybrid from to custom hybrid nrom. mine is nice I like the theme. stable, using my own kernel and ramdisk. perhaps someday I will make a rom of my hybrid hacks and just put a thanks to all the rom makers i pull and tweak from :)

That's the reason that I made this ROM lol. I wanted something that was suited for me

i noticed your boot.img is like 7mb you know my kernel supports lzma ramdisk so you can shrink that ramdisk down some more.
