If you have only 4 options in recovery you have the stock LG recovery. You need to install/flash the custom recovery again. HERE if you are running a rooted VC rom, or HERE for V9 roms. Once you do this you will be able to reboot recovery and flash Nrom.

I must have missed this because I installed the drellisdee custom recovery, after rooting my LG mobile updater installed version of VC and it seems to be working fine. I've even flashed NROM 1.5.1 and it seems to be working fine, given that I'm still having trouble powering down my phone and getting stuck at the LG boot logo on power up. But more on that on a new thread I'm going to start in a few minutes. Can someone pls confirm that you must absolutely use the XIONIA Clockwork recovery on VC. Also a link to that would be very helpful.

Edit: Just reread drewwaltons guide on rooting VC and he clearly states either custom recovery is fine. So what is it?

I was using drellisdee's custom recovery (v2), because I liked keeping things organized into folders in the card. I hate having anything in the root of the card. I chose to change to zefie's recovery, but that was after I had already used and been using drellisdee's after the VC update. They both work, and I have not had any of the BRICK (not sure we should even be calling it this, as they seem to be getting fixed) issues that have been reported with VC (knock on wood).

Thanks. Which ROMs have you been using?

switched over from thunder rom. I am a newbie with minimal understanding. But I just want to make sure of something. when I install you new rom do i need to revert back to stock, install the update then root again then install your rom or is it ready to go?

There's no requirement to install the update from Sprint in order to use this latest version. It works fine with the stock V9 (assuming you're at least on that one) radio without needing the VC radio update.

However, if you do plan on installing the update from Sprint, then, yes, you'll have to revert completely back to stock first (including the recovery). Also, if you do decide to get the Sprint update, do yourself a favor and update it through the LG Software Update tool, DO NOT get it via the over the air update, as that makes rooting considerably more difficult (might still be impossible at the moment, not sure if that's been fixed yet).

Personally, I just came over from Lego Rom with the V9 radio, and it's working great.

Thanks Cordell, got it going. Seems to be a tad slow in loading after rebooting but might just be me. Changed the theme, everything seems to
be working. Thanks Nick and all the rest.

Hmm I get FC's with the provided Terminal Emulator. Running v9 and came from ThundeRom *wiped everything before hand*

nm , went back 7 pages saw nick say to uninstall and reinstall from market

So, yesterday, I installed Nrom 1.5.1...

Today I discovered that I wouldn't get any response if I tried to update the profile or PRL...

Is anyone else having this issue? (or am I just *special*)

Do you have a V9 or VC radio?

Doesn't work for me either. Have vc.

Yeah isn't working for me either on V9. I'll look into this. For now it isn't really a big deal, just update your PRL and profile before you flash. By the time you actually need to update any of those things I'll probably have a fix for it.

I also noticed the PRL issue on V9.

Something else though...I tried setting up a password for the lock screen and after exiting that screen my phone reset and seems to have bricked itself. Won't go past the nROM boot screen. Was working great until I tried that though, lol.

Edit - I was able to boot into recovery and reflash 1.5.1. After that the phone booted up with the passworded lockscreen. I disabled that and everything seems to be fine now. I'm not sure if that was the ROM or something else.

Hey guys, I've been having issues with my touchscreen. With it sitting there and me not touching it apps will open, and screens will change. Anyone else having this happen? I'm trying to figure out if its a ROM issue or a rogue app issue.

That's the behavior talked about on the p500 threads... (and I thought it was supposed to be addressed in the vc update...)
