Honestly I wasn't too impressed with speeds prior to flashing my kernel, and then started using SetCpu. Speeds increased a bit, but the battery life is definitely better. Give it a shot, worse thing is you flash back to stock Tr1.5. I am loving this Rom now though :)

i just finished putting xonia and setcpu on my phone....not sure how much to run the cpu at so i have it at a max of 753 and min of 245. i see how that works out.

Yeah this is happening:

LG Optimus S Root and Custom Rom (Thunderom)

Wow. Hey, guys. Lemme put Thunderom on your phone (with no credit to Beezy or KSmith) for $20. Please? :)

Anyway, more kudos for the creators. Looking forward to the next update!

I guess he could charge for the service of Rooting the Phone, throwing a custom recovery on there and then flashing the Rom. Like you said, he should give credit where it is due...

What the ..... ???

Anyone want to buy a bridge? lol

i always hate these postings. people think they can profit off of others work.

in the end i believe he is only charging for the labor. it's a shame people don't realize all this information is free and not hard to do yourself. too bad downeys too far from me for a casual beatdown lol.

I haven't been on in a while due to moving and and holidays and such so trying to catch up. I flashed v1.5 from 1.4 and worked like a dream. Flashed v1.5 from v1.3 on my son's phone and not so lucky. Worked for about 3 hours and bricked. Will only turn on to recovery mode no matter what i do. Wiped and reflashed, nothing. I did do the debugging output deal and got a key 139. No idea what this means. Can anybody help me out here?

Also, where can I find the Xonia Kernel??

When you flashed 1.5 to 1.3 on your son's phone, did you go directly, or go to 1.4 first. Did you do any wipes? Regarding 1.5, the first post says that those coming from 1.4 to 1.5 don't have to wipe anything, but those coming from anything else must do full wipe (factory, cache, and dalvik). The first post also says that going from 1.3 to 1.4 only requires cache and dalvik wipes, so if you had 1.4 around somewhere (old versions of ThundeROM are not saved or linked to in this thread) from your own phone, you could have gone from 1.3 to 1.4 with those two wipes and then 1.4 to 1.5 without any wipes, eliminating the need to do a factory wipe.

Still slow

I flashed my optimus s to ThundeROM 1.5v and still get a benchmark of around 480. I rooted it, used custom recovery, did a backup, erased factory data dalvik and cache and then ran the rom it installed correctly but my phone was fater before this. (1037 benchmark) what could i have done wrong to make this happen?

you have stagefright disabled. when stagefright is enabled, our benchmarks shoot way up. stagefright doesn't play some media types on our device so quadrant errors and gives the highest possible score making our devices get 1500+ quadrant scores.

with it disabled, your looking at the 500-600 range which is about right for our device.

you did nothing wrong.

Sorry to ask this (I'm a noob to the Optimus S, but I was a dev for the Hero), but after flashing this ROM and opening the VVM app, it always wants to verify my subscription to Sprint... what's with that?

Any chance of having the Froyo keyboard as well?

I might be able to make a flash able zip to add it back ill check it out.

Haha i knew that screen name looked familiar.lol I seen you around the Hero section on xda. Have you excepted the free trial of voice to text?

stupid question how to install the flash and recovery to the root of the sd card

Not the right place to be asking question about rooting, but root of sdcard means to just place on the sdcard not in any file.

No I havenr accepted the free trial yet... Do I need to? I haven't used Sprint visual voice mail in forever so I'm not sure how it works lol.

Voice to text is annoying IMO. Every time you get a voicemail it send s a text, I remember that being a issue with roms a while back lol
