whats the difference between ThunderRom and ThunderRom theme?

Does everyone's google maps load up normally? Mine just sits there with blank tiles can't do anything.

Update: I had to delete it with titanium and then re-download it in market, works great now.

Ones just visual, the other is things like custom task manager built in and other rom specific settings its all really personal preferences if you like options available in nrom or lego Tom but like the look of thundeRom then just get the theme if you like the options in the Tom then get the rom

Build props should still be on the first page, deluxe is what you'll probably want. Flash it like a rom from recovery.

Build props automagically push to your SD card when you flash 1.7. Deluxe does seem to be the way to go.

i just flashed the deluxe and it seems like nothing is different. does it install any extra apps? my phone seems to run the same as before also

Didn't know that, though I still frequent this thread I jumped to gingerbread for cyanogenmod, which I've been missing since I left my MT3G.

Not to be rude but just because you can't see the difference doesn't mean there isn't one. If you dont notice a difference you probably didn't need one in the first place. There is a description of what the build props do for you MANY pages back if your up for researching try looking for them if not they can be removed by reflashing the rom, no you will not have to wipe anything and will not lose any apps. I'd recommend you ignore the fact that they are there until you decide to research them and determined that you dont need/want them, which you probably will want them.

Sorry forgot to add that no apps were added, it happens I get excited and jump into things all the time before I research things, and I've had my share of being told to check out the earlier pages. I would have provided a page number for you but one I'm on my phone and two I'm set to see 100posts per page so my numbers would be slightly off.

New here and want to say thanks for the clean looking ROM. I tried searching but when I upgrade from 1.6 to 1.7, do I need to flash everything and back up all my apps or is there a way to just update the ROM itself so all my stuff stays on the phone so I don't have to extract it back off the SD card?

I was running ThunderRom 1.6.2 with ThundeRC.1.2 custom recovery. As the post says, you only have to clear cache and davlik cache. All my apps and user data were intact, and I did not have to retrieve anything from the SD card.

And if I have my stuff from Titanium Backup on my sd card does it do the same as Nandroid backup? If so, can I just clear the davlik and cache then upload 1.7?

Why isnt there reboot buttons on the power putton menu like the ThundeRom theme?

most people only need to reboot into recovery and adding those lines of code is more work then the devs wanted for something thats as easy as pressing three buttons

How exactly do i install the deluxe rom after i have already installed ThundeRom v7?

by "deluxe rom" i'll assume you meant the deluxe build.prop, and you flash it just like you would the rom, go into recovery, flash from zip, and select the deluxe build.prop, once its done restart the phone. THE BUILD.PROPS ARE NOT SEPARATE ROMS AND DO NOT ERASE YOUR CURRENT ROM THEY JUST CHANGES SETTINGS.

first drop "like", its just an instantly repulsive word, second you do not wipe anything when flashing a build.prop. I would recommend that you flash your rom boot into it, then reboot to recovery, flash 1(ONE) change, then restart, repeat. Though it may work many times for many people, if you flash a rom and then flash a bunch of changes before ever booting the phone, you'll never figure out what may have gone wrong if you have a problem, and it will make troubleshooting your problems difficult for those you ask for help.


On this note, its been bugging me for a bit, ksmith or beezy if you read this, i'd like to recommend changing the name from deluxe build.prop to something else, i think people are getting caught up in the name deluxe and are expecting too much from it. i don't know if it's changed but if i remember you used to have one labeled jit one for stagefright and deluxe, but instead of deluxe maybe the name both would be better? Not going to tell you what to do with your rom, but two people in two days just jumping straight to deluxe without research, seems like it's probably just the flashy name.

Yeah was following TR since late November when they released the first or second release, I know they are custom roms sorry for the misunderstanding.

Was having a Wakelock issue with Google Voice which I know I have read about in the past about problems with the app. Anyone having any issues with their battery dying quickly without use might want to look at that.

I uninstalled it from my wife's phone and put Hullomail on it. Doesn't have the text but seems to be working well. Not that Google Voice's text was ever right. I think it would get 1 word out of 25 correct.

Just wanted to put it out there for anyone with battery issues.
