Sorry if this is a dumb question but I was just wondering if custom boot animations work with this ROM.

I'm really new at this and I've been trying for hours to get my custom boot animation to work (it was working before when I was rooted with no custom ROM) and I've spent about the last 2 hours searching the forums before posting my question here.

again, I apologize if it's a dumb question or if I simply missed something due to sleep deprivation lol

On TR 1.7 VC. The LG screen at boot up is scaring me taking so long, so I boot in recovery and reboot and it loads quickly as normal. Have not let it boot as normal thru the long LG screen.

Is the long LG screen normal for TR 1.7 users or is there something I can do (beside boot in recovery and reboot) to return it to normal startup operation.

Thanks

There have been lots of reports of VC phones hanging at the LG screen on a "cold" boot (the phone having been completely off before being turned on). If this is when you are experiencing the LG logo hang (as opposed to on a reboot from an operating phone), then your method seems as good as what others have found. Others are not as lucky as you and can't boot in to recovery from a cold boot, so they have to fiddle with the battery. If you can cold boot in to recovery and then inside recovery reboot to the full phone, lucky you. Here is what others are experiencing:

oh ok... is this going to be fixed soon, i love thunder rom and i haven't tried any others, if theres any other good ones could you tell me what they are?

I wouldn't worry about overclocking Thunder Rom as he stated he'd be doing another ROM later, somewhere, I think.

But I've tried all of the other ROMS (ones with overclocking kernels.. / using setcup.. you name it) . .Thunderom is by far the most stable.

I liked the Scott Pilgrim Rom and think it's very promising (I'll be keeping an eye on it), but I'm still a ThundeRom guy - it's very smooth. Like previous ThundeRom releases, I'm positive overclocking will eventually come back but they're working on stability with the VC updated Rom - It is nice having consistent SD card usage :)

K n B, I would like to personally know... what is your next steps for this Rom??

As I have noticed... TR1.7 is like a mystery Rom... Some days it goes GREAT, on other day's it does bad. On some other days it goes great with a battery life killer... on other other days... It runs choppy, battery dying quick, and random reboots...

and all I do is text :| basicly... I don't run up n down steps trying to see what apps i can randomly hit.

So same usage everyday... yet economy like stats. (Up/down, up/down)

I have been running this ROM for over almost 2 weeks and have not had any of these troubles you mentioned. Not real sure, but maybe try a CACHE & DALVIK wipe then reflash TR1.7. Worth a shot anyway.

Um you had some kind of mess up, or your pocket is doing things to your phone with out permission, example, one day i had voice dialer activate on me before work, then still with out my notice it was backgrounded, and a few other tasks started, i got to work and moved my phone from my pants pocket to my shirt pocket, so i could listen to music and noticed the phone was excessively hot, and battery had depleted to 30% in the 35 minuets from the time i unplugged my phone before leaving and the time i got to work and moved my phone, that battery should have lasted me the entire shift plus some, instead, i had to ask my boss to charge the phone on her computer, just so that it would be ready for me when i left work... didn't really help me out there did it?

That was on a MT3G but it was the pocket that did it all, if your usage isn't changing and your battery life is changing every day, I'd write down all your apps, or back them up some how, back up your messages, and do a complete wipe, battery, dalvik, cache and data, and reflash everything. If your still having problems go back to stock and see if your having the same problems, it might be a problem with your phone.

Already did that. I've been running tr1.7 since release... the 1st days it was ok, but I went to work.

Had full battery, got there with only 85%.... and i didnt run anything in between.... the next day.... i do the EXACT same thing and i get there with 99%.

It's fun to actually watch and do, but I think its just the whole VC update causing issues and TR1.7 trying to do what it want's. It's just kinda annoying to pull out my phone every 30 mins to lose 15% battery then the next 3 hours i only lose 5 :|.

No problems ever here either. This is more stable than any rom I've ever used on multiple Platforms.

I've had a few weird issues with the battery suddenly losing a good deal of charge on TR 1.7 but overall, my battery life is much better than it was on 1.6.2 and earlier. I'm happy with it.

Just want to see if I am the only one with this particular issue. I'm running TR 1.7 with the Sprint app fix as the only modification. Things were running great until the last couple of days. I'm now getting the OTA nag. I updated to VC through the LG update tool, so I know I'm on VC. Any suggestions? BTW, thanks to the devs for an excellent ROM!!! With Juice Defender and low screen timeout, I'm getting 2 days to a charge with moderate usage.

I just updated to vc last night and updated to tr1.7 as well and everything seems to be working fine except that my screen will not orientate to landscape.. Anyone one else having any problem with this or have any suggestions?

Make sure your Settings/Display has "auto-rotate" checked. I believe this reset for some people.

I would recommend flashing one of the build props of your choice, or simply wipe dalvik-cache and cache and reflash TR 1.7

Reflash the rom, you probably flashed a kernel other than ours. Also make sure your on the VC baseband.

The sprint fix was made for ThundeROM 1.6 so by flashing it, you've told the network your on V9, hence the nag.

For those who are coming from 1.6.2 with custom recovery and do not want to lose layout and apps:
1. make a nandroid backup
2. Reboot and once phone is b back on run lgupdater tool.
3. Once update is done and phone reboots, immediately reboot into recovery.
4. Restore your 1.6.2 backup
5. clear cache and dalvik cache
6. Flash 1.7
7. Enjoy.

Wanted to post an update.. I did this about a week ago and was working like a charm. I left my phone on and unplugged last night. This morning, my phone's battery had died and I ended up with a brick. None of the manual methods worked (3 finger solute, battery in and out, plug in and out). But, following the directions in the first post here http://forum.androidcentral.com/lg-...s/59781-un-brick-method-some-forms-brick.html, but with the modifications here worked. I'm back on TR1.6.2 and ZV9.. for now.
