For a fact I'm now switching over to at&t (ima miss you guys) but I don't know weather I should get the HTC one x or the galaxy s3? Both have pretty good development. But idk? Any ideas?

Personally i'd get the Nexus but out of these two I'd get the S3 because the bootloader isn't locked.

Since ive been on the ov my whole android life....what's a boot loader??

Got this from the xda wiki.

The bootloader is the first thing to load once you turn on the device, this does the job of booting up the device hardware and loading various items into memory before the ROM starts in the device. The bootloader is also responsible for enabling the flashing of new ROMs and other components such as the Radio and the Ext_ROM. Two modified bootloaders for the Hermes are HardSPL and SSPL.

Personally I'd get the One X because it looks better, is built better, and has a better camera.

Completely agreed. I think the GS3 is ugly. HTC made a beautiful phone with the One X. I have read that the One X has a better screen as well.

Of course if I was in your position I'd seriously consider a Galaxy Nexus because of its hackability.

Yeah. I was just saying One X because of his choices provided. If GNex was one of his choices, I'd go for it. Actually, I'd probably just wait for the next Nexus. Who needs a new phone when they already are building JB for the Optimus One?

Exactly. My friend has the One V and it just puts it to shame, but as long as I'm running the current OS, I won't have very terrible phone jealousy

Which one would be easier to root? And flash?? If you guys know?

I would say the S3 because of the bootloader. I believe AT&Ts One X has a locked bootloader but I think some devs unlocked it awhile back. So they're both rootable and flashable.

S3, because its a big deal device. Development will be awesome due to the fact tthat everyone wants one.

One X.

Once unlocked, high end HTC phones enjoy good support from devs. The same can't be said for the Galaxy lines. Even the Nexus pales compared to some top end HTC development.

I have no idea on the One X development.
I haven't had reason to look.

Don't expect ANY new phone to be as easy as the OV. Newer lock methods have come along, and they simply haven't had the development time.

Do you know if the HTC one x is easier to root?

I rooted a One V the other day and its more complex than the OV, but its basically like this:

1. Unlock boot loader using HTC dev
2. Flash new recovery
3. Flash an SU zip from recovery to root.

Like Leslie said, more complicated, but the HTC dev tools make a fool proof way to unlock and root. Its just a lot [more confusing] more work than gingerbreak.
