Something weird. I'm on Verizon but the update I got QQ1B.191205.012.A1 is showing as only for att. Anyone on Verizon have the update I got? I got my update yesterday by checking for update in settings.
I'm unlocked model on Verizon and got OTA yesterday. My build number is also 012.A1. I wouldn't worry about it since it was direct OTA and it's working perfectly fine.Something weird. It was never consistent, they do staggered updates and unfortunately can take sometimes weeks to eventually reach everyone.I got the pixel to get consistent updates. this isn't looking good
Well said. Some people are so dramatic. This is not just a security update but also a feature drop, especially for the P4 and 4XL. So it might take a bit longer in this case. Chill. The note 10 doesn't even have android 10 yet so what's the big fuss that they got a measly android security update before us, whilst we are getting new features as well as a security update.

Yes but still it's somewhat dependent on what SIM you have on the unlocked model. Generally if you have Verizon SIM you get first day or soon. For example we have observed having a T-Mobile SIM does cause delays. Many of us of have tested this. Let's say you have a T-Mobile SIM currently on the 4 XL and not getting the update, you can borrow a friend's Verizon SIM insert it, check for update and the update will be pushed thru.Out of curiosity, why are people reporting what carrier they are on? As this is an unlocked phone, don't updates come straight from Google with no interference from the carrier?

We don't know what's the process behind Google pushing updates in a staggered way, if they are indeed waiting for carriers to sign off. We don't know for sure but we do know that some carriers do get update pushed later than others. Not by weeks or months but may be few days to a week difference.
I've tried it with WiFi only on my 3xl and 4xl. No luck.I have two areas of inquiry and keep in mind, I'm not challenging your knowledge. I want to know more.
Rather than finding another SIM card, have people just tried using WiFi? Remove SIM. Connect to WiFi. All I can say is that my SIM-less Pixel 3 seems to get the updates promptly. I'm just one phone though so WiFi could be just as bad but it's a really easy option to try.
Why does this remain such a mystery? Apple, also in control of their hardware and software, pushes their updates out rapidly. I know there's a lot of speculation, some or all of which could absolutely be accurate, but what's the advantage of being mysterious here? Don't tip your hand? Staggered roll-out is a good explanation. So how does it work? Is it actually carrier sign-off?
If you remove your SIM and try with WiFi it still won't work since it knows the last registered network. The only way to trigger the update is inserting the SIM of the carrier for which the update is being pushed.I have two areas of inquiry and keep in mind, I'm not challenging your knowledge. I want to know more.
