Decisions Decisions - Note8 & S9+

A lot of news about the Note 9 has come out the last couple days. It's sounding like finger print sensor under the screen as well as being released a couple weeks earlier too! Greggles hinted at 8gb ram but I doubt that lol.

Anyway, overall with under screen finger print sensor and possibly shipping mid august instead of early sept, I'd say right now to hold off, at least until more leaked stuff comes out regarding the Note 9 before buying the s9 plus.

The Note 9 will probably be a lot better than the s9 plus and then you will kick yourself for buying the s9 plus.

I'll sell the S9+ and buy the note 9

Add:
-dual aperture camera
-stereo speakers

I won’t count the SD845 as a key differentiator but the two listed are.

I would. The S9+ it's a very different experience from the note 8 for me, as a heavy user fraction of second hiccups every few seconds vs no hiccups is great

Re: Decisions Decisions - Note8 & S9+

It really is marginal. but for some reason it feels much smaller. I think it is the weight diff too
It definitely feels more balanced in the hand... The Note8 was top heavy for sure.

I just wish they wouldn't round off the corners so much and leave them like on the Note8

I had an S7 Edge to trade in so my S9+ was half off

I know it. I upgraded my wife's phone to the Lilac purple and while I was in there I couldn't stop looking at that Blue Coral. After a few days of waffling I was back in the store handing over my Note 8 and walking out with one. Very nice looking phone indeed.
Yes it is

As nice as 9 plus looks. I have a 8 plus I paid off. And note 8 now with tmobile. I have jump on demand and can upgrade any time. But I will wait till next note comes out. I use my s pen.

Had the S8+ for a good 6 months then jumped to the Note 8. First though on the Note 8 is it feels soo much bigger, on paper they are similar but feels bigger. Used the Spen once a month for signing my time card and that's about it. Used it for a few other minor things but definitely not using it to it's fullest potential. Drop in the S9+ new for $700 and I couldn't resist. Again on paper very similar to the Note 8 but in the feels so much smaller, balances nice, finger sensor finally reachable, face/iris unlock is off the charts quick, and the stereo speakers sound a lot better. To me those are the biggest differences, software will come to the Note 8 when it Oreo gets released.

Best Buy's/AT&T's Deep Sea Blue may not be quite as pretty as the S9+'s Coral Blue but it's quite handsome enough. The Note has a functionality that's hard to beat.

I used to buy Notes, but never used the S-Pen. It just didn't fit into my usage patterns.

okay so here's my dilemma really want opinions had a 7 Edge after all HTC phones always been an Android person. Loved the 7 Edge so much and was wanting to upgrade but never really been into the big note series but didn't want the 8+ and at the time didn't know anything about the 9+ so me and my husband traded in our 7 edges and got $300 off and bought Note 8s outright from Samsung and got unlocked versions which we've never had before neither cuz we were thinking we might change carriers.

Well by the time we got our Note 8 which was just a few months ago I heard about the 9 but didn't know everything about it still and didn't want to wait because we thought getting $300 for 7 Edge was a good deal cuz that's what we paid for them so we got our money back and paid the difference for the notes. I love the Note 8 it's fast the battery lasts better than my 7 Edge but now I want the 9+.

The Note 8 it's too big for my small hands I never use the pen I don't like the fingerprint sensor on the back. I got offered 600 for my note from a co-worker I was trying to get 650 on Swappa but have never done swappa and would rather not have to deal with shipping and all that. But whatever I get I'll pay the difference and get the 9+ unlocked version and pay for the whole phone out right again like I did with the Note 8. Is it really worth it? Then I have to get a new screen protector and I got to get another case. But I really like the lilac color and that it's supposed to have a better camera and I really like the AR emoji thing and that the fingerprint sensor is in a better spot even though I wish it was on the front. And the stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos sounds cool. and I know the note 9 will be out and it's going to have the fingerprint sensor built-in but I'm just not really into the note series I don't use the pen I only got the note because it had a better camera and more RAM than the 8 plus and I just like to have the newest at the time so I'm just trying to figure out if it's worth selling my note and getting the plus but a lot of you people here have done it and really like the 9+ so maybe I should.

Iam still confused ...every time I tell my self u gonna wait for Note 9 . then I come to forums and see soo many people jumping from Note 8 to s9+....and those sweet features of 9+ like bigger battery...stereo speakers ....AR emojis slightly better camera ...I get tempted...but scared that will I be able to live without the S pen....upgrading wife from s7 edge to s9+...will play around with her phone....if I think it's really amazing will Get S9+ ...then in sep buy Note 9....just have to spend extra cash both times....

You can always make more money :-)
So far I have been really happy. Still have both S9+ and Note8, but once I am 100% sure, I will be selling my Note8 on ebay. Should recoup 85% of what I paid for it. Not regrets there.

What's the going rate for a Note 8 now? Mine is about 3 months old I've seen 550-700 so I listed mine on Craigs List no one wants and so I did Swappa yesterday and put 650. Someone offered me 575 should I take it? I want the 9 plus don't use the Pen this was my 1st Note and I hate the FP sensor.

You should be able to get $625-$650 easily.

Thanks, I sold one of my old HTC one time to this place in town cell phone doctor and got like 150 back when I only paid 199 on an upgrade but he only wanted to give me 450 for Note I said no cause he'll turn around and sell it for 600 or more. Hopefully someone on Swappa will give me the 650 I'm asking if not my coworker said 575 and that beats having to pay for shipping and getting insurance I guess. But I really want the Lilac 9plus but everyone is saying the blue is pretty too. I never use my pen and hate the FP sensor and everyone says the speakers are great and I think the AR Emjoi sounds cool.

The Note 9 will smash the s9 plus though. Then will you all be buying the Note 9?

If i switch to s9+ now I will switch Note 9...but then if Note 9 is just a bigger brother to S9+ with a S pen then I mite be happy with s9+...hope Samsung puts min 4000 mah battery better stereo speakers higher mp camera like 16mp and hope to see in display FP....for now for upgrade program via my galaxy app Ian getting around 750$ in exchange...so i have to put like 200$ more from my pocket...Iam in India...

I'm not so sure. Did the Note 8 smash the S8+? I honestly don't know the answer to that as I've never used an S8+.
