So I bought a Pixel 4a, which is amazing for the price point so far, as a phone to hold me over until the Pixel 5. I have the Pixel 5 on order, but wonder if the Pixel 4XL would be a better choice even though it's a year old due to specs etc? Am I missing something or am I really paying for a slight downgrade with the 5?

Through Fi, yes, but I was thinking about selling the 4a and paying about another $100 or less for the 4XL on Swappa.

I would get the 5 and i have a 4xl. I am trading my 4xl in on the 5. Lots of problems with my 4XL's, ive had 2 replacements, 3 phones in less than a year. Plus in todays day and age with masks, a fingerprint scanner is superior to face unlock. Soli was useless. I like the bigger battery and lack of bezels/notch with the 5.

I think I'm doing the same thing. Two months after purchasing my 4XL this past spring the battery was shot. It got replaced under warranty but I don't know if I can trust it. Add to it there is no fingerprint sensor and it's a bit of a hassle to carry the 4XL today. Plus I don't love the size, I only got it for the bigger battery.

I think the 5 is a great size and has solid specs and I'm not worried about the "mid range processor" because I think it will be more than capable. With the extra ram and bigger battery I'm rather looking forward to it.

If anybody is interested in a lightly used 4XL let me know.

Some will have issues regardless , I've had my pixel 4xl since last black friday so far it's running good , the only time I had get google to warranty my pixel 3xl wasn't reading the sim card other then that been good.

Yeah and honestly my 4XL is a great phone at this point and other than the lack of a fingerprint sensor it works really well.
