Defender and glass screen protector

I purchased the otterbox defender case and was told by the sales lady that it would be ok to also use a glass screen protector after popping out the original screen protector on the case. She did so and now the edges interfere with the case and it keeps peeling the edges up. Is anyone else running this setup? If so what protector are you using and what do you guys recommed?

I had an Otter Box for a day and quickly returned it. There's an airspace between the protective plastic and the screen so you have to press down really hard for anything to register.

If you already have a glass screen protector, I'd recommend the i-Blason Transformer Slim Hard Shell Holster Case. It's lightweight and the kickstand is one of the strongest I've seen. The kickstand is great for holding the phone above head if you like to watch movies laying down.

I do like the looks of that case but for what I do which is a lot of mechanic work I need something more rugged. I really like the otterbox case and the glass screen prorector with otterbox cover removed. It seems as if I need a screen protector that will run underneath the edges off the otterbox so that the edges of the screen protector can't peel up from the edges off the otterbox.

Does anyone know the screen protector that runs the furthest to the edge of the phone?

I bought the. Moshi ivisor glass. It works great and goes all the way to the edges and the defender fits nicely over and no bubbling peeling or interfere is presesent.

And I appreciate it. I am on a lot of automobile forums and know I can always count on those guys.

Thanks everybody!

The Defender for the S6 is better quality than past ones. The screen is more responsive and clear but they still have too much of an air gap that dust gets in. It you keep removing the case to clean it, the hard plastic shell loosens and squeaks eventually. Still good protection.

If you want good protection and built in screen protector I will recommend the Poetic Reveolution. I got my from Amazon a few days ago and love it so for. It is a bit more sleek but still think and the plastic is a bit harder than Otterbox so I don't think it will wear as much. However so far the screen protector is tons better than the Defender. It fits very tight against the screen so less air gap and it's tons more responsive than the Defender and it is very crisp and clear.

The Poetic side buttons are easy to push an responsive too.
Just make sure before installing the phone the screen protector and your phones screen is dust free as the case is a b*tch to remove. Fits very snug.

Oh and I have a Spigen Tough Armor case and bought the ZAGG glass and wasn't impressed with the case or the glass after using it for awhile and removed the glass and used the poetic case. The Spigen case too rough around my hands after using it all day and the ZAGG glass while very clear I found it to not be very responsive. Might have ruined the glass but I can just tell them it didn't stay stuck for long and get a replacement. ZAGG glass is a waste of money IMO but the lifetime warranty is nice on it. Should have tried the Incipio glass that was $10 cheaper at Sams.

Really look into the Poetic Revolution case on Amazon. Really cheap with standard shipping.

Overall Otterbox Defender is still a great case and have mine if anything happens to the Poetic if it doesn't stand up. Most retailers Otterbox Defender is really the only durable case they carry now besides the Griffin Survivor at Wal-Mart. If you want a thick case other than Otterbox shopping online will be really your only option.

The Commuter on the other hand for the S6 is garbage. Don't get me started on that. Nothing like their S3 case I had.

You had a faulty case then. Mine has a very minor gap and have no problem with screen response.

I agree. I have had mine since launch. No issues with screen clarity or responsiveness. Silicone layer has loosened yet and I've had to remove it a number of times.

Ok, so I got curious. Since I've last used my defender case, I've gotten a TGSP. I put on the defender case to see how it fit. It went together but it "bowed" the built in screen protector just enough you did have to be a very slight more firm on button presses. So seeing as I don't ever plan on taking the TGSP off, I popped out the built in SP.

After doing so, I'm not quite sure what your problem with a TGSP and a defender case is. I don't see a problem to be had.

A tempered glass screen protector helps to protect the screen from cracking by absorbing some shock and it cracking to despise the shock.

I use the original screen protector. It all depends upon your needs and usage habits. The tempered glass was definitely mitigate scratches and to an extent cracks in the screen but just like GG4, it is still glass and will break. If the impact is significant enough, both the screen protector and display will crack.

Ok I was really about to call OtterBox up about this problem. I've been running Otterbox cases for years and i've never had one that has had as much of an air gap as this one does. This seems to be a common thing with this specific case for this phone. I may give them a ring tomorrow and see what they say about it. Maybe a redesign is in order.
