Define a "dead zone" on the screen

Hello everybody

I have a need for my Galaxy Tab 2 8 inch I will describe as follows

Sometimes I need to take notes with it by grabbing the tablet putting my left thumb on the screen while i draw with a pen with my right hand. The problem is, some apps don't work well when they detect my left thumb touching the screen.

Considering this situation, is there any app that might help me to "ignore" the touch i make with the thumb while holding the tablet? or in a similar way, is there any app that might help me to define some sort of "dead zone" on the screen where i can put the thumb without interfering the note taking app?

you can use the bottom and upper edges.

Sure, but I have sort of big finger and I fear the tablet might fall off my hands by grabbing it just from the edges
