For some reason I do not like the wording on that.

I see what you are concerned about, its all in how Verizon can parse those words. "current pricing" can mean at some point those with unlimited data @ $29.99 suddenly become 2GB customers. On a side note I actually looked at my data usage today, last day of my billing cycle I used about 2.7GB.

I will say at some point we will lose these grandfathered plans, that is a certainty. BUT, if Verizon wants people to accept their bitter pill they should allow you to use your tiered data plan however you want without requiring an additional $20 for tethering. If you burn it up you pay more anyways.

My question is where and what will the family plans look like?

That's what i was referring to. Unlimited plans don't differentiate between 3g 4g. So when u upgrade to 4g, there will be the option for " keep existing plan/features"

So pretty much, when you go in and buy your Bionic at the store, be VERY certain that the sales person knows that you will NOT be changing your plan and will be keeping your unlimited plan. Tell them multiple times that you do not want it changed and do not care how they break it down to you. I see a few making "Mistakes:" at the register and then saying they can not change it back since that plan no longer exists.

Just FYI, I just got a reply from a VZW CSR stating the following:

If you are currently using a Smartphone with an unlimited plan and you upgrade to a new Smartphone or otherwise renew your contract, you will not be required to move to the new pricing at this time.


However, if you are currently using a basic (feature) phone with an unlimited plan and you upgrade to a new Smartphone, you will be required to move to one of the new usage based data plans.
