Definitely July! [edit]

I actually like the lip. One of the things about my DInc is that I accidentally hit the capacitive buttons all the time when I do anything in landscape view.

Oh god you know what? That was one of the biggest beefs I had with the Charge when I had it. Good point.

how you keep accidentally keep hitting physcial button?

I wish all future devices will have physcial buttons.

I bet nothing gets released until the return policy expires for those who lock in the unlimited plan with a new phone.

One of the things about the OMAP 4460 is supposed to be better power consumption management. So maybe that will help with battery life??

i get the feeling it wont be a 4460, just seems too good for the moment.

Idk I mean moto did say it was the end of waiting and maybe they want to come out with the first 1.5ghz dual core phone. We dont know with moto but it seems like they have something cooked up to try and win over a lot of people from buying other phones.

Thanks for all the info -

FYI, there is no OMAP 4440 any more, TI "renamed" the 4440 to 4460. So, it is either a 4430 or 4460.

The 4430 is clocked up to 1GHz and the 4460 is clocked up to 1,5GHz.

We have already heard from reliable sources that the Bionic will not be clocked at 1.5GHz - we did see some benchmark pics showing the Bionic at 1.0 GHz.

The Droid 3 is supposed to be running the OMAP 4430.

I personally would love to see an underclocked 4460 in the Bionic (and of course an unlocked bootloader to run custom kernels) ;)

Here is an article on the 4430 and 4440/4460. Looks like they renamed it back in March, so i am assuming we will be looking at the 4460. If it is underclocked at 1GHz, can a custom kernel then run it at 1.5?

I liked the physical buttons, don't get me wrong, but I just felt uncomfortable having to hold the phone with my thumb on the screen to avoid pressing stuff etc.

Wasn't the phone confirmed @ 1.2ghz? Wouldn't that make it a underclocked 4440/4460? I doubt with all the heat/battery issues it would bring it would be a 4430 over clocked.

I wouldn't say "confirmed" OXN shot some specs out and 1.2Ghz clock was one of them. One of the Hofo insiders, when asked about those specs, said "close enough." that definitely leaves some wiggle room.

Re: Definitely July!

You will be able to keep your unlimited data. I specifically asked her that question about 3g to 4g because my wife currently has the droid 2 and i was worried about the same thing. The study guides she gave us have this info. However, be careful. She flat out told me and my team to tell customers they need to change their plan. I love verizon service and the verizon people i've worked with, but to them its all about the money.

As for your new every two, they'll also honor that just make sure it doesn't expire. And unfortunately we don't honor new every two credits at Best Buy :[

EDIT: I'll try to get those pictures for you guys asap.

Don't understand comment "She flat out told me and my team to tell customers they need to change their plan." If I am grandfathered why do I need to change?

You don't. But they want you to so you end up paying them more. Basically comes down to lie to the customer so we can make more money.

This is what I have been saying for some time.

Problem is that 1 phone on 1 network is not enough to bail them out of the predicament they are in.

It all goes back to those discussions we were having a couple weeks back.

I must say that this analyst has no idea what he is talking about. He specifically mentions their lack of global reach? Really? Motorola's second largest market is China. Oh, by the way, China has the fastest growing economy in the world. They LOVE American products. Chevrolet is the #1 car in China, and they believe Chevy is a luxury item. Apple's presence is almost non-existent there, and Motorola has launched, TODAY, the Chinese version of the Atrix. Motorola has missed a HUGE opportunity in recent months with the Bionic delay, and the Xoom debacle. I own a Xoom, and I am rooted, and I also must say it is the best all around tablet on the market. Reasonable people can disagree. I understand that, but it has COMPLETELY replaced my laptop. I believe much of Moto's issues can be attributed to Google. Google is responsible for getting SD card support on the Xoom in the US (I already have it). The 4G debacle with the Xoom is a concern, but eventually that will be sorted out prior to the entire nation being covered with LTE. The GB bugs on the DX and other devices is a Google issue. Motorola's main competition is now Samsung and HTC, but HTC will decline if they cannot fix the battery life issues. Also, to that analyst, what a real call he has made, downgrading the stock AFTER it has lost 35% of its value recently. If he really knew what he was talking about, he would have made that call 6 months ago. A definite buying opportunity, PROVIDED THAT, Motorola pays closer attention to detail. Also, Motorola's marketing is TERRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why in the world would Motorola NOT market themselves as the original cellular company, and that they are AMERICAN. People eat that up!!!!!! Buy American!!!!! I know the parts come from Asia, but what doesn't? Also, Motorola has its hands in many other businesses than just Android telephony. I hope Sanjay realizes all this.
