Delay in Hangout and Email messages.

I am not sure if anyone is following this thread anymore, but I switched to StraightTalk about a month ago, and have been experiencing huge delays in my google voice notifications as well (among other things). I've tried several different apps to get this resolved, but none have worked for me... so I decided to write my own. It was published to the google play store this morning (Android 2.3+ currently). If anyone sees this, please try it out, and let me know what you think.

Always On Push Notifications

I've noticed the same thing on S.T. - data just sits and pauses for 30+ seconds for seemingly no reason.

I bought your app and will give it a try.

I found a fix for me at least.
Clean your threads completely. Don't archive, just delete all conversations.
Restart phone.

Will this fix this indefinitely or will we need to keep doing this on a regular basis?

Hi,

some of my friends seemed to have a similar issue, so i started searching for a solution.

It seems like it hasn't much to do with Hangouts itself and more the way the google-service handles push notifications.
(Thats why this problem also occurs with other apps too)

The solution to your problems might be the app "pushfixer".
I am not allowed to post links, since this is my first post, so you have to search for it yourself.
As mentioned above, the app is called "pushfixer" by andQlimax.
In the description,( if interested in,) you will find an explanation where this behaviour might come from.

Hope this will help some of you.

Any idea how this "pushfixer" app impacts battery life (if at all)?

That's not the only problem with Hangouts.
1- No way to add quick msgs.
2- Only one photo per mms.
3- No setting for light or dark background.
4- Etc.
I've really tried to love Hangouts, but these are in the "basic" pkg. of most messaging apps. I don't have a Nexus, but my son-in-law, who does, says that the Hangouts on his Nexus 5, acts the same way as the one on my LG G2. This, by the way, is with or without using Google Now as my launcher.:p
