Delays Getting Google Voice Mail Messages?

I'm on Verizon but I don't know whether the problem is on Verizon's end, or Google Voice's end. People will call and I don't get a voice mail message so I assume they didn't leave one. Then out of nowhere a day or two later, my phone will give off a notification and I'll suddenly see 5 - 10 Google voice mails messages show up all at once that were from the past couple of days! They are always time stamped properly showing they were left a day or two earlier, even though they've just showed up on my phone.

What I now need to pay particularly close attention to is whether they are showing up in Google Voice on the web when they should - but I'm 99% certain they are NOT showing up there either until about the same time they show up on my phone.

This is disappointing to me because unless this is a known issue happening on Google or Verizon's end, I don't see it ever being fixed and I'll have to go back to Verizon's visual voice mail which sucks in comparison - and costs money.

BTW I did a Google search and find very random reports of the same thing, but so random they give me very little hope. I think my next step is to set Google Voice to also email me and see if those show up right away or are also delayed.

I have had the same issue and because of that I have Gvoice email and text me. the email and text come through immediately. Reminds me of the old Verizon bashing commercials where they got killed for Vmail delays. now it's Google doing the same.

Thanks you, sorry I never saw your reply until now. In case anyone else encounter this issue, I can confirm identical results you report. I ended up setting it to send me an email. To this day I often encounter multiple hour delays before messages show up in Google Voice. But luckily the email messages always come over instantly so that I know I have a message.

I am also on Verizon, and I have the opposite scenario. My messages show on Google Voice immediately, and then there is about a 12 hour delay before I get the email, along with the correct time stamp. I found it odd, but since I get the voicemail immediately via Google Voice, I just left it alone.

I have similar issues, about 25% of the time, on AT&T (not that this is likely the root of the issue).
I always get the emails, pretty much instantly, but those 25% I get a delay in my GV notification of v-mail, sometimes quite a while (I haven't really mapped it, I'd guess 30-60 minutes though, sometimes a bit more).

Weird, in that you'd expect the GV system to trigger the email, not necessarily the other way around, so if anything, you'd expect the email to be slightly delayed.
They both translate the messages (to text), so that pretty much removes that, if anything you'd expect the email to lag a little.

My bigger issue is that sometimes I simply miss my v-mail notifications entirely, but that's because I'm new to Android (phone anyway), having come from a very long time Win phone base where it really gets in your face about notifications (yeah, I'm playing around with some widgets and such, trying to decide what's the good "balance" for my use).

Did anyone solve this problem? i experience multi-hour to a day delays receiving notification of voice mail messages on my Nexus 6p regularly. Not only do I not receive notifications on my screen, but even when I open the phone app, there is no indication of missed phone calls or voice mail messages on the icons. Then they suddenly show up the next day. Really aggravating. If anyone has solution, please post.
