Delete 4.2.2 update notification/push on unrooted Nexus 7?

I have seen enough negative comments about 4.2 upgrades to convince me I don't want to hassle with upgrade problems by installing it.
Is there a way to turn off the frequent and continuous reminders to install the update?

Not that I'm aware of on the notifications.

Actually I think 4.2.2 is a big win.. Its 4.2.1 that caused so many headaches...

That may be, but when I google 'android 4.2.2 problems nexus 7' there seem to be a number of reports of N7s that bricked when the 4.2.2 update was installed.
Since my 4.1 config has no issues and 4.2.2 doesn't have any features I can't live without it seems like a high risk low reward proposition to upgrade. Maybe I just need to put up with the persistent notification nuisance, at least until I accidentally hit "install now" instead of "install later"
