Deleting a app, does that delete its data?

I downloaded a few apps that save data into sd card, say maverick which saved maps to card. I uninstalled the app but it's data stayed on my card, is there a way to delete everything involved in the app at once?

One would hope so....at a minimum, the addressed memory space will be "released" for future use..........otherwise the OS would grind to a halt.

I hooked it up to my pc in mass mode and deleted the folders on the pc. They stayed with all info

oopps... misunderstood question/situation. You were talking about data on the separate memory card.
