Hello! I have an issue with my Android that is making me go crazy. I deleted a contact that I definitely don't want to see anymore. I cannot find it if I scroll my contact list, or if I look for it from my Google account. HOWEVER, in the contacts app, if I type it, the contact still re-appears. It is part of a "work profile" that I cannot seem to find anywhere. I can only "edit before call" or "copy number". Because of this, it keeps coming up on WhatsApp, Telegram, and such - although it is blocked.

I tried cleaning the cache, turning the sync off, anything. The only work profile I can find in my phone is related to my current job that I only started a few months ago.

PLEASE help I want this contact to disappear from my devices!

I'm not a regular responder here, but I've had similar issues in the past. Some reappear on Maps as a location etc.

I just found this but not sure if it works yet. Apparently deleted Contacts are moved to a bin for a month but can be permanently erased as per below.

Maybe someone eill advise if the contact names remain in keyboard apps or Google itself as well :

The Bin is under Fix and Manage.
If you've tried this already let us know.

Someone here should have more direct knowledge.

Welcome to Android Central! It might be using your email history as a reference, even if you never saved it as a contact. Try opening your Google Contacts on your computer browser (contacts.google.com) and search for that contact (apologies if you've already tried this, but I was assuming you've only tried on mobile so far). If you find it, see if you can delete it that way. I just tried that with an annoying contact that has persisted in my list ("Appliance Hospital") after they emailed me a while back for an invoice that was intended for a completely different customer. I couldn't delete it from the Google Contacts app on my phone, but at contacts.google.com on my computer browser, I did get the option to delete. There was a notification that it would be completely removed after 30 days, so I'll have to let you know if it was completely successful after another month ...
