Deleting emails with Marshmallow, how can I keep them gone?

Deleting emails with marshmallow

I see others have answered to swipe left but for me it is not permanently deleting emails. They keep returning. HELP

Welcome to Android Central! Which device, email app, and email provider? Do you know if you're using the POP3 or IMAP server?

I'm having the same issue! My Samsung S6 downloaded an update the other night and it turns out it was the new Marshmallow OS. Since then, I delete my emails only to have them return in my inbox moments later!!!!
Is there anything someone can suggest I do????
