I wasn't sure if folks were talking about the gmail app or the imap/pop mail app. Both versions allow for selecting multiple emails for mass deletion.
The regular mail app also allows for "select all" and delete. Coming from a Blackberry it wasn't immediately obvious how to do this and I thought I had to long-press each email and delete individually but that is not the case.
In the mail app, when you have a list of unselected emails, press menu, then delete. The screen will now display the emails with a select box to the right for marking individual/multiple emails for deletion. Press menu again and you can select "Mark all".
There are non-gmail accounts that sync. POP accounts do not.sorry.. to clarify, I have an additional email, I believe a POP3 account, that does not sync actions back to the phone. So if I bulk delete emails on the desktop/web, it will not bulk delete on my phone. For gmail.. that's good to know. So, I guess for non-gmail we are still stuck.![]()
The POP account email received via gmail with sync between gmail and the device but there won't be any sync with the POP server or any mail clients that directly poll the POP server. "Never" really depends on what the specific user is attempting.sucks man, link your pop to your gmail and you will never have to deal with that..
