AC Question

I've been trying to delete icons from my home screen and I can't seem to find a trash bin on the corner at the top or anywhere to do so. Only thing that happened was that little window pops up with the three or four choices, one being delete shortcut but doesn't explain how to do so.

Welcome to the forums. What happens if you just tap the 'delete' option on that menu?

just click the delete shortcut on the pop up menu, that will remove the shortcut from your home screen.

Hi guys
What if the popup menu doesn't show at all?
I have this problem and I don't know how to delete icons from my homescreen. Is there a way to turn on the pop up menu?

Are you holding steady without moving (once you touch and hold the icon).

Sorry for the stupid question, but I've assisted someone with shaky hands with the same problem (elderly).

Edit: and another person whose touches did not register on long press. She have to use a "touch pen".

Press and hold the icon, then press this.

Have you disabled animations in the developer options?

Yes :)
The problem is solved. I had turned off animations in developer options, but only animation duration scale was responsible for the popup menu.
Thanks!

Glad it helped! Yes, just setting animator duration scale to 0.5x or 1.0x will solve the issue.

I still cannot remove apps from the screen unless I uninstall them. I do get the long-press menu but it only gives me these options: 1.select multiple items 2.sleep 3.uninstall and 4.app-info. it used to allow me to delete/remove icon. I've tried changing Animator duration scale to .5, 1 and even turning it off, but it's NOT fixing the problem. I just got my phone yesterday and did make two system updates (G955USQS2BQL1 and G955USQU2BQK5). Any help would be greatly appreciated.

That's strange. Were you able to remove the home screen shortcuts before the update? Do you have easy mode enabled?

Does an "X" or "trashcan" appear at the top of the screen?
If so drag icon to that.
