Deleting photos from auto backup album

Hi - I have a Album within my Gallery on a Samsung S3 which is called Auto Backup - this is now not picking up any recent photos and the pic that is on the front screen of the album is lets say one that i dont want there - how can I get the photo deleted or get it to carry on backing up so that pic is not at the front anymore? Ideally I want to delete that one though. I HAVENT got Picaso its connected to Google + I think but I don't remember creating it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated as followed all the advice above and nothing seems to work ??
Thanks in advance :)

After going to google+ and deleting all the photos, they were still on my phone .. android Samsung Galaxy SIII. I had already turned off auto backup of photos, but too late for the ones already backed up. The easiest thing to do is remove the gmail account. Once you remove the gmail account, go into the gallery and bang! the photos are gone. Re-enter your gmail account and reboot your phone. presto.. problem solved.

Go to the gallery and go to the setings of gallery and go to the acount and disable picasa then turn off gallery and open it you will see
