Deleting "Voice Message" on Gear S?

I have Messages, Email, Gmail, Weather Alerts, News Bulletins and Voice Messages all configured to show on my Gear S through Gear Manager. I am able to delete all notifications on my Gear S except for the Voice Message notifications. I delete Voice Messages on my Note 4, but the Voice Message notifications remain on my watch.
Can anyone advise me as to how to delete Voice Messages on the Gear S?

Long press the screen when that notification is on there, a little circle with a minus sign appears in the upper right. Tap that icon then tap the screen again after it disappears.

I would further disable the notification for voice mail because that is the root cause and would happen again. You really have no way of checking the voice mail without your phone anyway.

That's funny some how I still get vm notifications on my watch but it's def UNCHECKED in Gear manager notifications. This started happening since the latest update.

I just open my phone on the watch and call my voicemail contact. The notification calls the watch voicemail# but if I use the phone app it works fine for me when I'm tethered to my phone. I've never tried calling my voicemail when connected remotely do I can't say if it works also.

Might I suggest double check that? Mine has enabled itself again more than once after a phone reboot. If you're using a notification app, such as Gear S Notification Extender, it might be enabled there also.

That's my point. You need to have your phone near by within BT range in order to call the VM. You might just as well use your phone to check VM especially in the age of Visual VM. Who calls for VM anymore?

There is a problem with the VM notification. Even though you have remove the notification panel from the watch, it is not clear to me that those notification get dismissed at all. If not, it can pile up on your watch for no good usage. So, might just disable the notification altogether until Samsung figure out how to fix it (doesn't look like it will get fixed as this is a bug from day 1).

No problem, suggest away, but I don't have that Extender app or any other notification apps, but you are correct it happens after a reboot. But even still that didn't start happening until the very last update.

The phone app on the watch, not the phone app on the phone.
I don't quite understand your reasoning of "might as well use the phone". If I had that mindset why have a watch at all? My phone is tethered to my watch much of the day, though not physically with me most of that time, but I don't bother to open it unless surfing forums, s note creation, etc
I've got power , volume, channel buttons on my tv within easy reach but I still use my remote ;)
As far as the bug I wonder how much it has to do with you'd get the same notification if the watch was using its built in number and can't distinguish correctly. It can be dismissed when a voicemail is left on the watches number.

Re: Deleting "Voice Message" on Gear S?

I fear that these undismissed notifications will eating up the memory space in the watch. Eventually, you might have to factory reset the watch to get it working. Knowing how lazy Samsung is, it could really happen but I don't know.

Remember the workaround only removes the voice mail notification panel, not actually dismiss it.

What are you talking about?

The voice message is stored on the server, not the phone. The notification itself is minuscule.

It really seems like you are looking for things to be negative about.

Regardless how minuscule, it adds up over the time. I'm just being cautious, not negative.

The Gear and host device have separate VM accounts; at least on AT&T. VM notifications on the Gear have different icons for each. It's the notifications from the host device that are hanging. If carrier data is either off or set to auto, calls to the Gear's discrete phone number go straight to its VM. When call forwarding to the Gear any VMs go to the Gear's VM. Only VMs left on the host device's number end up as "pass through" notifications and they show a device vs. watch icon.

Thanks for clearing that up. I'd never noticed a difference in icons before but I wasn't looking either so.... Thanks again.

I've had no problems checking voice mail on my Gear S, about as easily as I can on my phone, even when remotely connected. Why can't you check your email on your watch? Do you have it set up to do so?

When you connected remotely, you are only checking your watch's voice mail, not your phone's voice mail, by default when press 1 or dial the voice mail number.

I have my phone set to forward unanswered calls to my watch. If I fail to answer my calls via my watch, I get the voice mail the caller leaves through my watch. There are several Call settings on my phone that allow my calls to be forwarded to my watch. Maybe that's what needs to be selected in order to get voice mails, etc.

If I'm not mistaken, the voice mail notification from watch's own number is not a problem (can be dismissed). The one from phone's voice mail is the problem as most ppl use BT connection all the time. When your watch is on BT connection, the watch's cell radio is disabled and won't receive anything by default. In turn you receive voice mail notification from the phone and can't be dismissed on the watch. That is what this thread all about.

Also, in certain situations, e.g. when AT&T support leave you a voice message, it goes directly to the phone's voice mail, bypassing all the forwarding you setup. I had that happened once in the past when I was using Google Voice for voice mail. Took me a while to find a direct phone number to retrieve the voice mail from the AT&T server.
