Deletion sync of photos

Hey guys!

I've just run into this problem again after I gave up on finding a solution a while back..

I like to backup my pictures/videos to the cloud automatically on my phones. The trouble is, when I take ten pictures and only two are good, I delete them from my SD card - but they still remain on the cloud (whether it be Dropbox or Picasa, etc.).

Does anybody know of a solution to this? Some way to sync the deletion of photos and videos from the SD card to the cloud? I'm at a loss, and it's super frustrating trying to wade through two years of blurry photos!!

Use the Google Photos app. Deleting a photo there will remove all instances of the photo, both in the cloud and on the device.

Does it at least work for photos uploaded to Google Photos/Picasa? What I had suggested wouldn't work with Dropbox or other cloud storage.

No. I can delete a photo from my SD card and it'll remain in Google Photos. I can also delete a photo from Google Photos and it'll remain on my SD card.

I believe the problem stems from the fact that my images are stored on my SD card rather than internal storage. Synchronization seems to work fine with items on my internal storage. Stupid KitKat SD permission garbage...

Actually, I think Google just recently changed how photo deletion works in the Photos app. Not long ago, if you deleted a photo in the Photos app, it would warn you that you're deleting it across all devices (i.e., both the cloud copy and the locally stored copy). Your post prompted me to try this again, and now it appears that they have separated the deletion functions--so now you can specifically delete the copy in the cloud and keep the one on your device, or vice-versa. Perhaps they made the change due to users requesting more control over what photos get deleted where.
