I just called the CS number to ask about an early upgrade. I'm scheduled for the end of February, but was hoping to move that up to, um, tomorrow. Haha.
I spoke to the rep, told her that the reason I was asking because my current phone has been acting funny/freezing up lately and the battery wasn't keeping a charge all that well.
She told me that if I know the phone I wanted, they could put in the order for the subsidized price and a manager could push the order through early for me (she did confirm that's not guaranteed, and it wouldn't be immediate, but most likely within a week).
I then brought up that Amazon has the phone on sale for $160 and I was hoping to get that price instead of the $200 VZ is charging. She said they can't match that price, and if I wanted to get that price, I'd have to wait until my actual upgrade date. She said there's no way they can just move up the upgrade date since the 'NE2' program was dropped/revised. I asked about speaking to a manager, and she said that even the managers can't just change the date. They can only push through an order.
All was not lost though, as she told me that if I talk to a corporate store manager, they may actually be able to help me with the early upgrade and get the phone for the discounted price. Think I'll be heading to a store tomorrow.
Probably should have mentioned going to another provider for a new contract, but slipped my mind. Regardless, anyone have an recent success in moving an upgrade date? Was it in-store or via talking to CS?
