Developer Edition - Available April 19th

Thanks anyways! I finally got a hold of customer service, there is a update already on the site it says Estimated shipping and arrival date. Supposedly it says estimated arrival date to be April 8th. Probably an error
Wow, the site states that they'll ship the 18th. I went with overnight shipping so hopefully I get it the 19th. I'll be across the country next week, if this thing shows up and sits on my office desk all week...

i asked the rep about the shipping on april 8th message and she told me that its just an automated system. the phone will definitely NOT be shipping today.

I dont think the Dev Editions are with a warranty, I know by unlocking my AT&T HTC One X on HTCDEV.com, it maked me accept that by unlocking the bootloader it "may void my warranty." I asked about the dev edition and heres the email i got back (and i excitedly ordered soon after)

Dear Robstunner:

The developer version is available through many third-party vendors, mainly online. You can indeed use it with any carrier you prefer and the phone is not branded (Customized by any carrier). This version is intended for our developer community; however we have seen a very good reception of these devices in the general public. Since the phone is not branded, updates should be received without any customization.

The purchase of the device should be done exclusively from trusted vendors.

It is a real pleasure to assist you. Rob, I hope the information will suffice, however, if you require further assistance of if you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to reply to this email.

I wish you have an awesome weekend!

So the Dev Edition:

-Updates straight from HTC without AT&T holdup
-No Carrier Branding
-Unlocked bootloader and Sim
-No having to debloat the AT&T garbage baked into the stock roms

i hope that applies to the 32gb unlocked version as well (minus the unlocked bootloader).

hey Guys The unlock ver work with AT&T LTE?

I would like to know this as well. Maybe save myself a few bucks. Also, do unlocked variants usually get their updates faster than say AT&T? But then again, I like the idea of if I have a bad apple, I can just go into a store and exchange it.

So I've been on hold for 50 minutes now trying to place the order over the phone.. messed around on the work computer trying to order just as long using IE...6 or so.. damn government computers.. Anyway it wouldn't work.. finally I tried using my current rental phone... a Z10 and I was able to place the order online lol Checked order status and it says Ready for Fulfillment... estimated shipping date April 5th, estimated arrival April 8th.. I'm still not expecting it until the 19th but that would be awesome to get it on Monday.

I dont think they have a dev edition unlocked 32gb verison

i know, i meant the unlocked 32gb version that's not bootloader unlocked.

Im not sure what you mean. in the US there is no sim unlocked 32gb version, unless your talking about something like the imported ones like on negri or expansys.

i stand corrected. my apologies.

Yes. I need to call them anyway because I need it shipped somewhere that isn't my billing address and I didn't see that option when I was purchasing.
Ha thanks, that was my exact question - I couldn't figure out how to ship to a different address. Thanks.

I called and got it, as well as the issue where the purchase needed to be validated, cleared up with a phone call.

So about two hours after I preordered mine I get an email from HTC saying I can get free shipping and a free case when I preorder the phone through htc.com. Now I get to sit on hold for another two hours to have that case added to my order. Oh well.. free schwag though.

Hmmm... I want that.

Placed my order for the 32GB model. I really wanted to wait to see if the black would ever come out but the price for the unlocked 32GB was too good to pass up and I can't wait to play with this thing. Absolutely blown away that the 32GB one is $75 cheaper than the 16GB iPhone... This thing is going to sell. I'm also pretty excited that it's $25 cheaper than buying the 32GB from ATT off contract. Save money, it's unlocked.. deals all around.

I really wish the black was available. I don't want to wait but the phone looks so damn sexy in black.
