Developer Edition - Available April 19th

Got the same email. Preordered on 4/5 like a lot of others. Just cancelled my 64 GB DE. Ridiculous. First HTC experience, doubtful I will buy their stuff again...

I canceled on these jokers yesterday. I bought a silver 32GB AT&T model this morning also! No black phone available despite what a store rep told me. GREAT PHONE ! Finally in my hands.

My wife just left the ATT store after picking me up a 32gb silver. Going to cancel my dev edition later today when I have time. Letstalk will never see business from me again.

Got the phone from ATT... HURRAY for bloatware!!!!!
Canceled letstalk... never again.

Me too! Ill live with 32gb, I had no problem using 16gb on my iPhone so this will be ok and a $50 savings. Already bootloader unlocked and now rooting. Yay no crapware.

It is really hard not to just go to the store today and buy one, I want 64GB but looks to be a online exclusive according to the Premier website. Has anyone bought a 64GB In Store? I want to cancel but something is telling me to wait...

It's sad, most people, including myself have canceled. Getting a 64gb dev model this early was too good to be true.

No offense Q, but that sounds like a sweeping generalization, "most people" especially considering that reports from Let's Talk have over 5000 orders. Do you have any way to back that up?

It looks to me like a lot of people following this and the XDA thread have cancelled, but that's going to be a small subset of the Dev pre-orders.

While I agree, I think an assumption can be made that most people interested in developer edition phones are most likely people that are on sites like this and XDA. So yes, "most" is probably not accurate but it could be an indication of the small population of people that care about those type of devices.

No offense taken. I was actually referring to people from this thread. I'm sorry if my over generalizing offended you.

So right after I got the email my Dev edition phone is delayed, I got an email from T-Mobile saying the One is "available now!". Total croc, of course, what they meant was it's available to order now on their website. Out of curiosity I logged in and priced it out, and basically I can get the 32GB phone for $579 but once you include tax and some high shipping prices it was $640 delivered. Also the website said I'd get my phone from them around 4/29, so do delivery advantage there at all.

Since I've been able to confirm via written email from LetsTalk that they will indeed be waiving my overnight shipping fee, I'm going to go ahead and wait it out for the Dev Ed phone since I'll basically be getting an extra 32GB of storage for $5. I also believe it will be a bit of a hassle to get T-Mo to unlock their phone for me (I need to use it on both T-Mo and StraightTalk/ATT) so I'm probably better off wiating for the SIM unlocked Dev phone anyway. Just hate waiting :) If in the end HTC/LetsTalk can't deliver the phone before the end of April as promised then I can always cancel and pick up the T-Mo version from one of their local stores (they'll have them in stock by then).

I went ahead and ordered T-Mobile. I'd been wavering back and forth, but the higher speeds from the HSPA+ (plus the later LTE) made me decide to cancel my dev order and get one from T-Mobile online. Only after I ordered did I find out that I could have requested expedited shipping and gotten it on the 22nd. But I can't change shipping once I've ordered. No big deal, it will get here when it gets here.

Yeah I've been going back n' forth too. T-Mo LTE will work with the Dev Edition phone from what I understand.

Yeah, that's also one of the reasons I had no problem going through tmobile. I wanted the dev edition but, I wondered how it would work on tmo's network. The 1900mhz band has been enabled in my city but, when using my iPhone 5 is wasn't that great and very inconsistent. I wasn't sure how the dev model would do. It's will be nice to have the hspa+ 42 and Lte when they enable it.

I already have two unlocked phones already, the Nexus 4 and oppo find 5 so it's not that big a deal to me. It does however suck to pay the extra taxes and shipping.

Yes, once it is rolled out. But the HSPA+ is here now and is well established, so it will have better coverage at first, and the same LTE coverage. The only downside for me (since I intend to keep this one stock not rommed) is the lack of 64gb on the TMO version. But I decided that will be enough. Also, TMO has those custom apps, like WiFi calling.

If you are going to unlock the bootloader anyway, the dev may be the best model for you.
