After software update that came through recently, applications that need root access are saying that the device is not rooted - but the super user icon is still there. I've ran the one click root and it seems to take, ran the same way it did initially to root. I've master reset and formatted memory card. Superuser still there and app still say not rooted.... any advice??

Superuser won't go away unless you flash a stock image in Odin. Odds are busy box didn't take when you did the 1 click. A simple way to update it is in Titanium Backup. Click on the button on the bottom that says "Problems?" and it will download the newest version. I had to do this on my girlfriends Fascinate after flashing DL09 and rerooting hers.

Thanks for the suggestion, Titanium Backup is also giving me the "could not acquire root privileges, please verify that your ROM is rooted and includes busy box and try again"

I'd like to try going back to stock and rerooting or just forgetting about the root and use pdanet rather than wireless tether.. but none of the downloads in the links for odin seem to work..

Rach311, go into roms and hacks forum. Look for droidx post on returning back to stock. Don't do the ODIN/DL09 flash! Use the DO01 tar and flash with ODIN. Droidx posted a complete walk thru. Flash back to DO01. Then run update check thru innopath app. It will bring back vz DL09 OTA. Run the download and you back to stock with official verozon OTA update.!! MAKE SURE YOU FOLLOW DROID X INSTRUCTIONS ESPECIALLY THE PART ABOUT PDA. I did this last nite , worked like a charm. Good luck.

I had the same issue. I rooted with Super one click 1.7
The tool shows that the phone rooted successfully and test result ok, but any application that need rooted phone was blocked. Suddenly I realized that One Click has one more tab: "Allow non market apps (required root)". All I did - I ran this tab and wolla - everything works.

Thank you for your contribution, very useful info on your first post...i have never used super one click but ill try it to increase my knowlege base :)

My guess is that he used the 1 click root option which does not give the necessary files to allow for root. When I first rooted my Samsung I had some of the same issues. They went away after I flashed the correct modem using Odin.
