I accidentally clicked on the unlocked device app. When I did the app said the device was permanently unlocked. Does it mean my phone is already unlocked? (tmobile)

The one for tmobile that unlocks your device once it's paid for. Mine seems to be unlocked already.

Ah yes, SIM unlocked. Yes, that means the device can be used with SIMs that are not T-Mobile.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining lol. Just shocked it's already unlocked.

Curious... Did you buy it at full retail or on payment plan?

I'm on T-Mobile and mine says that same thing. I didn't have to click on anythjng. That's very weird. Perhaps the best test is to insert another carrier sim to confirm. Will have to try that when I get a chance.

My phone is also on a payment plan.

Update: :once I insert a non T-Mobile sim card I get a notification saying my sim is invalid and I need to use the device unlock app.

Just read an article on here about Verizon s7 and s7 edge also came Sim unlocked. This may be the new norm now.

Verizon has been doing that for a while now. Way for the s7 and edge. Wish other carriers would follow suit.
