DI18 Update Released

Has anyone noticed any apps missing from the market? Such as Slingplayer and CBS Pro Football?

this may be the same thing that happened with the last update- it took a while for google to reset whatever to allow protected apps to be downloaded off the market- they eventually will add this update to the list

Very mixed results

I have very mixed results after installing DI18. Sometimes the 3G speeds are decent, sometimes they are bad, including download speeds.

Not sure what is special about my case, except that in my home I am in an allegedly 4G indoor area (on Sprint's map) but I can't get 4G service. Maybe Sprint scrimps on provisioning its 3G towers here because they believe their own propaganda about 4G coverage.

One bizarre thing I notice is that if SpeedTest doesn't have a GPS lock (pulsing icon in notification bar) before the test, the chances are especially high that the up/down speeds will be poor. Maybe this is a strange artifact of the SpeedTest utility, but it seems real enough. Also had problems uploading these images to the host until I used WiFi.

At any rate, this inconsistent performance is not very satisfactory. I can't say my 3G network problems are solved. This weekend I will cruise other locations in town and test there.

I don't understand how some are getting updates faster then others.

It's a random rollout over the air but most of us are manually updating using the file available on xda.

I've been forcing the phone to check for updates a handful of times over the last 12 hours, and after one of the forces (NOT during), I was notified there was an update available.

I noticed, though, that when you force a check, it apparently has to do it on basic CDMA service......it turns wifi/3G/4G off......or maybe it's just me....

The download went pretty quick, so I doubt that it actually downloads over CDMA, but still.......kinda quirky.

As for the update, I haven't noticed much difference yet.

well i charged over night, did usual airplane mode toggle and shut down drm and been unplugged for 1.5 hours with 4% drop. im liking that part at least

Well my upload speeds are certainly fixed with this update (averaging around 500) but my download is still awful at no more than 200. I was initially thinking I might have a phone with a faulty antenna but I guess not...

I wonder if you are sharing a tower with a bunch of asshats streaming Netflix via hotspot....

When you say you "checked" for the update, where did you do that? Firmware update?

As a followup after testing in other locations, this seems to be completely a function of signal strength. The bad 3G performance, both down and up, occurs where the phone is only showing one or two bars of 3G signal. Where the signal is strong, so is the up and down speed.

So I guess my remaining gripe is with Sprint coverage, not with this device.

That was it. When I read your post I remembered that issue on my EVO.
