Did Dashing Docks Disappear?

For most of my adult life now I've had a HP touchpad or Blackberry playbook sitting by my bed on a perfectly designed dock to wake me up, answer my questions, show me the news, make me laugh, hold my books, let me shop, steal my movies, hide my pron, connect me to my friends, put me to sleep, and be a good companion. Those devices were amazing in their day but are definitely dinosaurs compared to the tab S, yet half their magic was that they were always ready without any extra effort. Grabbing them on and off their cradle was just as easy as grabbing a book off a shelf. The future was awesome, after some practice I can literally toss these "flagships of their day" into a charging state from a few feet away, like the guys in the 50's did with their fedoras. That's awesomely classy future stuff, but the future seems to have gone horribly awry... Why was this major accessory pushed aside? I just snagged a 10.5 tab S at a great price but am worried once I look at current dock options, the few I've found seem to require precise placement and leave the tablet precariously perched by one of it's most fragile parts. They seem like modest and embarrassed little afterthought accessories trying to hide instead of the proudly useful thrones for a useful tool that 5 year old devices rocked.

Maybe a qi enabled case that isn't too brusque or a dock that subtly guides the tablet into place... Anyone found an easy charging solution for the truly lazy that supports the tab S or did I get the wrong tablet for my preferences?

I hate to say it but you might have waited for the Tab S2 to come out. I believe they will have QI charging built in to them. It might have been the ideal tablet you were looking for.
