Did I miss something, is the Nexus 4 lte & 5 a dead idea?

I would love that.
HTC has some catch-up to do. If they released a Google version of the One with 64GB, SD Slot, Removable battery, at $600, they could draw a lot of attention. They have the most to gain from trying to give us everything.

I love that HTC don't make rom for something as useless as SD card slot and removeable battery which would comprimize the beautiful, flawless design they've had on their last couple of phones!!
If you need more than 64 gb on your phone, get cloud storage...........or a laptop! Removeable battery? Does anyone do this anymore? There's power available EVERYWHERE. Trippin' in wall outlets and PC/laptop usb charging everywhere........ even solarpanel chargers....... You're probably one of those who crave for that FM radio **** too?

I'm being a bit of an a*s right now, but I'm so tired of people comprimizing the price, specs and innovation on new phones by demanding "old" technology on them just so they can stay in their oldfashioned comfort zone.

Gotta quit coffee so late at night..... Peace!

While you were being a bit of an a@% I agree with you;)
I came to the nexus 4 from the S3 where I carried around a spare battery but never actually wanted to go through the process of removing the case and back and reassembling it just to change the battery. Most of the time i just plugged in. I also hated having to constantly manage two points of storage and wonder where I saved a file. A unibody device looks better and is easier to maintain.
