After the note 7 fiasco and the S8 series is such a awesome phone, will the note 8 bring back the note series, or have majority people moved on. I know I am content with the S8 plus, whatever the note brings to the table will be on the S9 series minus the S pen, which I didn't use much anyway. The main reason I went the note route in the past is bigger screen, and that don't sound to be a big difference anymore.

Who knows, maybe future will be S9 and S9 plus with S pen, and drop the note all together.

I'm pretty sure that quite a lot of people will go for the Note 8. My concern is the actual dimensions of it. It should be at least slightly wider than the 8+.

Has to be. If its just an 8 plus with stylus lots of people wont be happy. It must be wider to be able to use the stylus properly.

Ton of people have been just sitting and waiting for it. It'll be ok.

Where the heck do you get 11 people? Did you survey everyone in the world?
Read the other post I quoted and what I said. They said a ton of people were waiting for the note 8, that would be approximately 11 people. Was being funny, not intended to be serious, the 😀, LOL at the end D

Lol sorry. I just woke up. Wasn't really trying to sound crappy about it😉😁

Your good. I got a chuckle out of it. I just wanted to make sure people didn't take it serious, I know note series is popular. Just curious if there will be a decline this year, I know I'm one that moved to the S8 plus and I have had the notes since note 2. I'm sure I'm not alone.

Lol yeah. I hear ya😁 yeah sadly I do think after note7 mess they did lose some. But for me I actually thought the s8+ was nice and so tempted to try it but I'm waiting for note 8 to come out so I can see if I like it which Samsung hasn't let me down yet lol. Well besides the note7 trouble. But I'm over that. I've had note phones since note 3. If for some reason I don't like note 8 then I'll get the s8+. I can forgive Samsung or whatever for the note7 but God help us all if the note 8 has issues. I think that will be a huge problem if it happens again. I wouldnt go for the note 9 i know that. If there was one. But I'm hoping they make note 8 even better than the note7 was (minus the battery problem lmao). What's the best thing about the s8+

I went with the S8 plus because I felt it was my note 7 without the S pen. I can do what I did with the S pen on the S8 with my finger, and I didn't use the S pen for anything else. My main reason for getting the note series was bigger screen, and it appears the note 8 will be similar to S8 plus in screen size. The note 8 might be a little wider, but I don't want wider. I think there were a few using the note series for the bigger screen, now with the S8 plus being similar, it might grab other note users that just wanted the bigger screen.

They didn't kill the Note... but just with direction of phones its become less relevent...

S4... S5... S6... S6 Edge... S7... S7 Edge... a phone that had a 5", 5", 5", 5.1", 5.1", 5.5" screen.
At the same time you have the Note 3, 4, 5, 7 that had 5.5", 5.5", 5.5" 5.7" displays.

I mentioned before, the Note series is more of a niche phone... S-Pen and from beginning bigger screen over most regular phone... a phablet. And I think the Note got the higher specs over that years Galaxys. They usually used the Note to showcase the latest specs.

This year the difference between the S8+ and Note 8 will be pretty much .2" in screen size with a pen and updated camera that they couldn't get into the S8 in time. Where there is some pen features you'll never get on the +, there are some they gave like gif creator. So where people went with the note for the pen, but I suspect more for the larger screen and usually higher specs, there is a lot less reason to. S9 and Note 9 I imagine the gap will be narrrowed even more.

I would hate to see phones get bigger than the S8+ and the Note 8's 6.3 in future phones so not sure what direction Samsung needs to take the Note series. I've always hated the iPhone + size and am pretty excited the rumored iPhone 8 models have been in between. Perfect size IMO.

I see Apple eventually, if not with the iPhone 8, add Apple Pencil support to their phone. If they do that then Samsung will probably follow suit with the +. If Apple does it, it will be a $100 accessory for the pen. Samsung can do the same. If they keep with 3 phones then they should make the Note a "Pro" phone and stuff a 4000+mah 2-day min. battery and tout it as a super workhourse phone. But please don't go bigger to some ridiculous size and go 6'5"+ screens.

Yeah I just left verizon store and that s8+ is nice. So if for some reason I don't like note 8, the s8+ it will be. Lol😁

I doubt apple will add pencil support. Its not like a lot of people are asking for it.

fingerprint sensor on back, not good. phone getting too tall. I want my note 7 back.
I love where the fingerprint sensor is on the S8. I also love the gesture swipe down to open the notification bar, and how you can unlock your phone using the FPS right from the always on display without having to wake the phone first.

I personally think the FPS is getting a bad rap and would love to see it on the back in coming models, maybe in the middle below the camera like the G6.

The Note has its dedicated line of fans.

Even though the 5 and 7 were very identical to the S6 and S7 respectively in terms of raw specs and design, they still found some fans.
