Did strong charging current damage my pcb?

[Android Central Question]

I have a Blu pure xr. I was traveling and charged it on an overnight bus. At one point I noticed it was getting hot while charging and unplugged it. When I was able to charge it from a wall charger I noticed the charger getting hot again and there was a smell. I haven't been able to charge the phone since.

My USB c charging port is very clearly visibly damaged and needs to be replaced. What I want to know is what are the odds the pcb is too? The port seems like a fairly easy fix, but it might be a lot more difficult if the pcb is damaged too.
