Did you pre-order the Revue?

A dream come true would have been $99. I was hoping for $149. I expected $199.

It was unrealistic to expect such a price. Boxee Box is priced at $199 and does substantially less. Logitech simply priced their product accordingly.

But $299? Really? Make that Harmony stuff extra - frankly I don't care about it, I just want Google TV. They should have priced it at $199, gave us the mini-keyboard, and said if you wanted to include the Harmony stuff it would have been an extra $100.

My advice to you is to wait for someone (and maybe Logitech does just that) to produce another Google TV product that suits your needs better - one without Logitech's bells and whistles. But to be perfectly honest, I think you'd be doing yourself a disservice. The entire point of Google TV is to unify your multimedia - Logitech's been doing that with hardware for who knows how long. Harmony is worth every penny. The partnership couldn't be more perfect.

i'm sitting here with the cc in front of me hovering over the pre-order button. I think i'll wait and see how nicely it integrates with the crappiest cable box known to man (The Cox communcations Motorola DVR Box)

I'm with you. I have Time Warner which I thought was the crappiest cable box known to man. Maybe it's a close second. I miss my FIOS box. Was thinking about dropping the cash for a Moxi, but wanted to see how this Google TV works. Still too much to pre-order.

Some are missing the point on this; Apple TV and Boxee are not direct competitors. Boxee and Apple TV are devices that you switch to much like switching to a DVD player. The Revue is something that is always on, no switching too since your TV source is piped through the revue box then to your TV. Have a fantasy league? Why not put the game into a PIP window at the bottom corner of your TV WHILE you check out your league online or wherever else you have it. Did you just see some thing on TV that you want to get more info on? hop on the web at the same time and search for more info while still watching TV. It's endless.

While Boxee (Apple TV doesn't even hold a candle to Boxee) streams stuff from the web, it will not work WITH your TV, it's essentially another "DVD" player OR a unit to replace your Cable/SAT TV. The Revue is meant to work with your Cable/TV source.

Also, the price, really? Try and build an HTPC for the same money (and I am talking about HDMI capture card to pipe video through and HDMI video out to your TV). From what I am reading the revue has Harmony technology built in. There are IR blasters that come out the back and stick onto the front of all your components allowing you to control everything with one system without having to purchase an all in one remote. I have a Harmony One and Harmony 1100 and they work awesome. My 3 year old presses the button that has a picture of the TV and automagically turns everything on that needs to be on and switches all the ports.

If you're looking to ditch Cable, go with the Boxee system, I installed in on my PC to play with the system and it looks very promising. Looking to enhance Cable, go with Google TV.... looking to be uber Geeky, get the Boxee TV to ditch cable and the put it through the Revue Google TV to enhance it further....lol

The Dlink Boxee system is using the same exact free software from Boxee, you just get it in a nice low power small device that sits next to your TV.

DISH customers can pick up the Revue for $179, but that will require a $4.00 monthly surcharge for integration with their HD DVRs.
