Digital Keyboard Won't open, Not even on lock screen

[Android Central Question]

ZTE Tracfone. I was just browsing when suddenly the keyboard won't open. Not even on the lock screen Password. So I cannot log into my own phone. I've reset it multiple times, manual and even holding the power button down. won't work.

I can't see the 4 icon words on the phone screen didn't come out good

it says: power off is bottom right, restart is bottom left, top left is flight mode, top right is to turn off notifications

Choose power off before screen restarts try holding power and volume up same time to get into recovery and do factory reset

Reset your whole phone like it was new .

so that means it deletes all of my apps, phone numbers, and EVERYTHING???

Everything, do you have everything sync and back up , it will restore them?

Why won't my gboard popup on my lockscreen

I have a ZTE blade z but when I try to unlock my phone, the virtual keyboard won't come up. It requires the password whenever I restart my phone and I can't use my fingerprint to get in because it still require the password. I press and hold the button that allow me to put it the password but the keyboard won't come up. Is there anyway to get in without factory reset? Please help

All of a sudden my ZTE blade doesn't have a keyboard anymore.

I can't search on the internet,
I can't look for a name in the contact list
I can't copy nor paste
does anyone know how to fix this problem please.?

Welcome to the forums. You are using Gboard, right? Try closing it from Recent apps and then clear cache from settings - apps - Gboard. Tell us how it goes.

Why won't my keyboard appear on my lock screen?

I have a ZTE model Z981. When I turn my phone on, it says "To start Android, enter your password". That is normal. The keyboard will appear like normal, and I can type in my password. Like normal it will say "starting android", and the "metro PCS On The Nationwide T-Mobile Network" will appear. Afterwards it will go to my lock screen like normal. I have it set to require my password a 2nd time to unlock my phone. However, that 2nd time, the keyboard will not appear. When this happened in the past, I fixed it by pressing "emergency call", and then going back to the lock screen that tells me to enter my password. That method no longer works for me, unfortunately. I have already tried "power off", "reboot", and an alternative restart.

I made an account and Safe mode did not work for me btw. I heard that ZTE was not compatible with USB OTG. What keyboard should I get for my phone if there is one compatible with it? I would hate to lose all my photos (especially since this happened on my birthday yesterday).

I don't have a bluetooth keyboard to log in with. How do I install a secondary keyboard app from google play like the article said if I can't even log into my phone to do so?

You would have to purchase one , but I wouldn't waste time as the ones tried I didn't work.
