Digitizer damaged? Replacement options?

So I was cleaning my Opti V today, something I do every now and then. However, this time, I did it when the phone was on. When I was finished, I unlocked it, went to the app drawer, and to my dismay, my touches were not registering. I can touch anywhere on the screen, except where the dock bar area is. If I drag an app to it, it will stop moving right above it.

I pulled it apart, and cleaned the screen and back of the digitizer and re assembled it.
When it was back together, I was able to touch more of the dock bar, but the response was spotty (could not long press) and the bottom right corner was not responding, still.

I've got it torn apart with the digitizer and screen sitting in a baggie of rice drying over night, but if it is damaged, will I be able to use a digitizer from the LS670? They are about half the price of any for the VM670, and with the EVO right around the corner, I don't want to spend any more then I have to if it is damaged.

Thanks for any input guys and gals.

Well, the rice fixed it. But the question still remains: can I use the ls670 digitizer with the vm?

I'm thinking about picking up the ls digitizer and vm screen to have in the sock drawer for protection :D

The digitalizer should work without having to flash anything on your phone. But there are 2 types of lcd screens for the s/v/u the screen that comes with zv4 and the screen that comes with zv5 phones. If you get a zv4 lcd some how then all you would have to do is flash the zv4 firmware witch you could probably get by pming sammyz.
