Dilemma regarding data signal, wifi signal and proximity of phone to computer

I use my LG G4 smartphone as a hotspot. I need to have the phone near a whole house signal booster to get the optimum signal. The booster is about 20 feet from my computer.

When I put the phone near the booster, my signal per my computer is weak (3 or 4 bars). If I put the phone near my computer the signal per my computer is strong (5 bars). If the phone is near the booster, the internet signal is strong, about -86 db. When the phone is near my computer, the internet signal diminishes to about -100 db. So, I have to choose between a good internet connection or a good wifi connection.

I realize that 20 feet should not degrade the signal from the hotspot but it seems to.

Would a wifi extender or booster near my computer help if my hotspot is 20 feet away.

Have you tried testing the Internet speed on you pc with the phones position in both places?

Bars can be very misleading and just because you drop one bar on computer wifi signal doesn't mean there should be much if any drop in speeds.

Also, phone's hotspot isn't entirely like a normal wireless router, the phones signal will be weaker and broadcasted in a smaller area.

The speed tests are about the same. ping is about 75 - 80 , download about 14.5 and upload about 7

I have an LG G3 and live just south of Boston.I have a personal cell booster and my download speed is 3-4 on avg which sucks upload is say 5-6.But usually it's 1.8-2.5 and 3-5 upload.Considering there's 3 towers within 8-9 mile and the booster not happy!Well after doing alot of digging and finding that almost "all" the speed booster and reconnecting apps where useless.Check out Internet speed master link below

It actually works got it last nite and keep testing it,3-4 jump on down and uploads.Funny thing it's made more for rooted phones or tablets but it worked better on my unrooted phone than my rooted tablet I'm assuming it works on pc's as well,I hope it helps!And I have tried so many.
