Dinc... Autofocus on close up object?

How to you get the auto-focus to lock on something close-up? I see it come into focus fine when it tries to focus, but the focus it locks on is out of focus?

I have tried touching the subject I want it to focus on on the screen...

Maybe a camera app to do this?

I'd like to know also. It obviously can focus in on close objects, but doesn't seem to wanna stay focused.

on my eris (incredible gets here tomorrow) you can tap the screen where you want to focus. anywhere on the screen, it works no problem.

Well, the incredible does that fine as well. The problem is on "close-up" shots, like a macro shot, it focuses in for a second, but then goes out of focus. It seems to be able to focus in on an extremely close object, but then falls out of focus.

Have you tried Vignette? Maybe it's different when not using the stock camera app

I don't think it is in need of an additional lens, you can see it clearly focus properly, it just doesn't lock on that focus.

have you considered taking a less close picture, and cropping it? the pix are 8MP, they can be worked with pretty well...
