DInc crashes PC in disk drive mode

I'm stumped. I have a DInc running 2.2 and whenever I connect to the PC it starts in "charging mode." No problem there. However, when I switch it to "disk drive" mode on the DInc my PC immediately crashes (BSOD), no warning, nothing.

If I connect to the PC and I get the pop up on the PC and choose to install the driver the PC immediately crashes.

I don't get it. I've been able to do this before with no problems. What I can't recall is if it was when I was running 2.1 or after I got 2.2. On top of that, I've installed enough apps that I can't deduce what app, if any, would be causing this.

I've hit a wall. I'd rather not keep pulling the microSD card each time to download photos or add audio files.

Anybody got any suggestions?

Thank you in advance,
Jeff

Hey there jaharris67... I'm not the brightest bulb in the box when it comes to this stuff but my guess would be to back up your apps at a third party like AppBrain, uninstall your apps and connect to your computer to see if they play nice with just the 2.2 If not your only alternative is factory reset. Then add your apps back on one by one checking each time to see if a particular app is the problem child. I know it's a real pita but it's all I can suggest with my limited knowledge. Wish I could better help... Best o' luck!

I've had the same problems since the 2.2 upgrade. It's Verizons media manager that they shoved into it with the upgrade. I'm still tring to get a work around with out rooting. I really wish Google would not have let Verizon put their garbage on the phones.

ic3pO & purpledragon883,

Thanks for the responses.

ic3... I use appbrain so that wouldn't be a problem but I really don't want to go that route if I don't have to.

purple... How confident are you that it is in fact the media manager? It seems to me that would affect thousands of people and a fix would be out there. I'm not doubting your detective work but I just can't believe there isn't a fix.

Thanks.
