DINC Factory RESET

So last nite i performed a factory reset. The phone was having all kinds of bugs and verizon tech recomended i perform a reset. Phone seems to be better now. I think this time ill avoid downloading useless apps that fill the phone up. I am going thru the phone book, and wondering why when i click on some peoples contact info and choose edit there are multiple choices in the next screen. Im aware that i should have a phone contact and a google contact. Why would i have multiple phone contacts? How can i eliminate the additional contacts?

Those are linked contacts. Basically, it's your phone trying to find similar contact info and putting it under one name instead of making you go through all of them.

So it could be linking someone's twitter account, facebook, google contact, phone contact.. and if you had numbers from awhile ago it could be linking "Joe's cell, Joe home, Joe work." There should be an option to unlink accounts in the settings menu, then delete the ones you don't want.
