DINC not updating OTA

my DINC hasnt had any OTA updates it is still on 2.1-update1 and says that "Your system is clearly up to date."

i tried to manually install the update.zip from the Google servers but i get an error.

can anyone help me?

also i was looking to root my phone so would it need to be update it before i can root it or can i root it as is?

You can root as is and then flash a froyo (or even gingerbread) ROM. Also, I'm sure someone still has a link to the update.zip file.

Unrevoked will work.

Is it a new phone? All the new one's I've seen in the last few months have been 2.2 out of the box.

no i pre-ordered it in the mail and it just didnt get the update

Hmmm - There have been 3 OTA's since release. If you have not gotten any of them I would take it to a corporate store where they have tech's and have them flash the OTA's for you.

This way when you root you will have a clean 2.2 fully updated nandroid to go back to if you need it.

Just a thought.

i think i got the first update sinse its 2.1-update1 will do. good thing i have fridays off
