So it looks like the Froyo OTA is finally coming tomorrow. Source: Software Update: DROID INCREDIBLE by HTC

Question. Will the 3G hotspot feature they include and the VZ Navigator app they include be free? Is it me, or is it kinda pointless to load apps that require subscriptions? Just curious if I should use the rooted tether instead of the built in. Cant seem to get a firm confirmation of whether or not these 2 will cause added charges.

Hot spot free, Eh NO

Verizon won't give away the $30 a month revenue easily.
I believe the Droid 2 that has Froyo doesn't have free tethering.

Why use (and pay for) VZNav when we have FREE Google apps???

I assume you will have to pay for VZNav and 3G Hotspot.
I remember VZW was giving away the 3G Hotspot feature for PalmPre users, but I think that was due to the phone not selling well.

Do we have mods that can close and delete threads? This whole Froyo and OTA mess is ridiculous. If they need a mod I'll throw my hat in the ring.

i got a question and hopefully someone can help me out here. I recently rooted my inc and downloaded the wireless tethering and I must say it works very nicely. My question is: Do I have to unroot my inc in order to be able to download the froyo? Also if I root it again (if I have to unroot it) Will I be able to download the wireless tethering again to avoid having to pay Verizon for tethering and will it tether in 802.11n?

neither are free.

i installed the leaked version this morning on my better half's DInc, when i hit hotspot its telling me i need it subscribed from VZW, and when i hit Nav it gives me a spash screen to sign up for 9.99 a month, or decline.

Read on XDA forums - I believe they have instructions for installing while keeping root.
