Ding, Ding, Ding during call

Anyone have a clue as to why my phone during any call, has a ding, ding, ding tone in the background? It just started after I deleted a number of apps to make room, and since I took a new Android update. No, it's not any of the settings in the phone menu, ie., connected call, minute reminder, etc.

Thanks all!

At what interval do you hear the tone? Is it every few seconds, or every minute, or more random? Is it with every call, or only certain ones?

Thank you for your reply. It is a pattern of the same tone over and over, and it is present throughout the entire call, regardless of length, and it's every call, incoming and outgoing. Thanks again!

So it's constant like without a break?

You say ding ding ding… Do you mean that it's 3 bells like, Hello Sandy (ding ding ding) I've been looking forward to your (ding ding ding) call since we talked the other day (ding ding ding) … Or is the interval longer, shorter, every 2 seconds, every 30?

It is unusual to have something pop up after removing apps. Typically it's the other way round. In the meantime, can your caller hear it?

Is it with all calls, one specific caller?

Have you tired making calls while in Safe Mode?

What device do you have?

Is it faint like a background sound or prominent like it's meant to be heard?

Have you tried closing all of your background apps, clearing your recently used app's list, and making a call?

Is the sound familiar, like from another app or anything we might be able to relate to?

It's usually three tones in a row, one second apart. Sometimes five tones, nothing completely consistent.

Continuous throughout the call while talking and not talking.

Other caller can not hear it.

All calls made I can hear it.

Safe Mode eliminates the tone.

Samsung S9+

Meant to be heard.

Not sure how to close background apps, and the clearing of recently used apps.

It's a familiar sound, but I don't know where I've heard it before.

Thanks!

If safe mode stops it there's a good chance you can stop it by taking away Phone permission from all apps. Go to Settings>Apps>upper right corner 3 dots Permission manager>Phone, remove all apps from this permission. It's not forever. When you open or use an app that requires this permission it will ask like it's the first time.

If this stops the issue, you then need to be a detective. As those apps that were removed being to ask for permission again pay attention to which ones and when. If the issue returns whatever the last app or two were will probably be the culprit. Then you'll just need to decide if it's an app that you want or need. The rest will be up to you.
